guess what the UPS guy dropped off???

big plans for the weekend?

we are up in lake geneva, wi for the weekend.
so nice to get away from chicago for a few days! even though most visitors in lake geneva are from chicagoland, lol! can't wait to hit the shops in a little while! might even venture over to the outlet stores over in kenosha?

speaking of "shopping" both my LA PLATES and PREPPY PLATES orders arrived just before left for lake geneva! BONUS!

everything turned out great!!especially the large cutting board i ordered from LA PLATES a few weeks ago when i was in grosse pointe at the TB spring market.
here's another view of the cutting board and the fabulous color options! although i am partial to PINK & BLUE!

also, loving the PREPPY PLATES serving platters i ordered from HAUTELOOK.
sorry, for personal reasons i covered the monogram on everything!

both the platters and the cutting board will go great with my other PREPPY PLATES order below:
do you sense a common theme? lol! in case you are wondering underneath the bird above is a set of monogrammed coasters.

well, hopefully the weather you are is nicer than the overcast crap up here in lake geneva, wi. at least this is temp, sunshine and warmer temps are coming!!! hopefully, before we head back to chicago, lol!

that's okay, sitting a caribou enjoying a pineapple something smoothie. thanks to suburban prep for keeping me in the loop about the $3.00 smoothie deal at caribou!
oh well, i think it's time to go over at scuttlebutt's for their eggs benedict! hands down the BEST egg benedict in lake geneva!
hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

can't wait...

this afternoon i saw a post on facebook that supposedly the state of ohio had something 69 tornadoes today? really?!?! can't believe how crazy the weather has been lately!

i know grosse pointe, michigan got pounded! flooding everywhere, kind of crazy! in case you are curious, click here to see a few photos posted on facebook. i don't ever recall seeing that much flooding around town....YUCK! knock on wood, my tenant hasn't called to say we had water in our basement! knock on wood!!!!

unfortunately, more bad weather is on the horizon for chicago! YUCK!!!  i'll be happy once this all passes over! after all, we are heading up to lake geneva, wisconsin this weekend!

as of now no rain in the forecast, at least the last time i checked! let's hope it stays that way! ha! ha!
are you heading out of town this weekend? if so, where?

okay, what's up with the news lady talking about gas prices going back up in a hurry?!?!!? WTH!!! why do i have to wait until 10pm to find out the reason why? i hate it when they pull that crap! ha! ha!

i don't know about you but we haven't seen gas prices UNDER $4.00/gallon in weeks! BS i tell ya! lol!

.......great sounds of thunder in the distance!

yum! yum! yum!

what are your favorite cravings at the moment?

lately, i've been having this market salad from whole foods.
it's simple enough to make it a home, probably cheaper than the $7.99/lb. salad buffet price! not sure what it is, but i can't seem to bring myself to spending $5.99 for a small bottle of  their balsamic vinaigrette dressing! yeah, i can be pretty frugal sometimes...lol!
speaking of whole foods, some people can't get by without a coke/diet coke everyday. instead i chose to have a can of coconut juice everyday.
i have also purchased ZICO coconut water but the can above [with pulp] seems to be my favorite! do you have a favorite brand of coconut juice/water?

plus, when i buy a dozen at a time whole foods gives me an additional 10% off! sometimes, it pays to buy in bulk, lol!!

next up, love laughing cow cheese! can't beat 35 calories a wedge, ha! ha!
there are so many fabulous uses for this stuff. do you have a favorite way you like to have your laughing cow cheese?

finally, last on my list is this DARK CHOCOLATE ESPRESSO trail mix from target, OMG! certainly, not the healthiest trail mix on the market! ha! ha!
YUM!!!!

you'll never believe what i found...

greetings!

hope you all have a wonderful weekend! we spent the weekend up in a small town in northwest wisconsin for my brother-in-law's wedding.

friday was my husband and my 11th wedding anniversary. so instead of going out for dinner for our anniversary, we attended their rehearsal dinner. kind of strange, seeing that they got married the day after we got married [different years, of course!] but you know what i mean! ha! ha!

that's okay, we are going celebrate our anniversary while up in lake geneva, wisconsin next weekend. can't believe memorial day is NEXT weekend!

oh well, have you ever gone out of town for a wedding and "the friend" unexpectedly arrived?!?!?!

well, that's exactly what happened to me! needless to say, the dress i originally intended to wear was out of the question, UGH!!!

of course, saturday morning i frantically searched for something to wear? the wedding was at 1:30pm, which didn't leave a lot of time! UGH, with NO MALL in sight i had two choices kohl's and target.

personally, NOT a fan of kohl's! i usually shop there only when i receive those buy $10.00, get $10.00 FREE cards in the mail! ha! ha!

well, i am pleased to report that kohl's didn't let me down! i ended up buying this adorable dress from their apt. 9 collection:
it was love at first sight! ha! ha! here's a close up of the dress...
can you believe i paid ONLY $29.99 for this dress!

i also picked up this black sweater to wear over the dress, since it was in the 60's yesterday. actually, found it on clearance for $10.00!
instead of wearing a pair of one of these lovely ferragamo's, i decided to wear my black jack rogers!
as for a purse, i had no choice but to carry this tory burch clutch:
so glad that what could have been a total disaster was diverted thanks to kohl's!

kohl's also has the same dress in green, but the store didn't have my size. i'm definitely planning on going to stop by a kohl's near me and buy it in green!

anyway, the wedding was beautiful and my BIL and SIL are now on their way to st. lucia for their honeymoon,  lucky dawgs, ha! ha!

hard to believe, 11 years ago my husband and i were  married and actually on our way to aruba for two weeks for our honeymoon.  below is a photo taken on the day of my wedding back home in grosse pointe, michigan:
what i wouldn't give to be a bride again, lol!
