okay, here's what i bought...

i really didn't have time to do much shopping while i was in grosse pointe over the weekend, but managed to make a few purchases. of which, i purchased this adorable GRETCHEN SCOTT tunic over at village palm.

speaking of GRETCHEN SCOTT, does anyone know where i can find her stuff here in chicago and/or down in richmond, charlottesville, alexandria, annapolis and/or georgetown? if so, please let me know! thanks!

i also bought this desk tray from tazoi, a home decor line of two's company. i paid $37.95 for the little tray, still debating if it was worth $37.95, but the color combo was too cute to pass up! 

plus the rim matches my seafoam colored chevron pillows:

i also ordered the large cutting board below from LA PLATES. i chose the same pattern as in the image below my last name initial in PINK. they were in town for the TB spring market show over at the little club.

i ordered it to match my PREPPY PLATES tray, coasters and platters [not shown, on order].  although, now i really wish i asked for the PINK circle and then my initial. oh well!!

of course, i also purchased this oil painting from a local artist, which i previously blogged about. can't wait to take it to the framer this week!

finally, on my way back to chicago i stopped at the little villager in new buffalo and purchased up this adorable vase:

here's the oil painting i bought over the weekend. it's actually part of my anniversary gift from my husband. now i just have to take it in to be matted & framed. when it's done it will look something like this...

i am thinking my new acquisition will be another water scene. i just love the artists work, especially the specific painting technique she uses! sorry, i can't think of what painting technique called? anyone?!?!

also, i'm super excited that my mom remembered to bring home my silver jack rogers that have been up north since last summer!

yippeeee!

guess i should update my color sandal wheel since i have FINALLY have all my jack rogers & steven bonanno's in one spot! lol!

tomorrow i'll share with you what else i purchased over the weekend, including my 1st gretchen scott purchase!

can you believer one of my friends called me a "shopaholic" ----little does she know that i have a blog called just another preppy shopaholic ....LOL!

i am spending the weekend back home in grosse pointe! so nice to be back home in michigan for the weekend. hopefully the weather will hold out the rest of the time i'm in town! ....fingers crossed!

anyway, i purchased this oil painting as part of my anniversary present from my hubby. can't wait to get it home and have it framed & matted the way i want it done!

what a week and it's only wednesday, sheesh!

yesterday we were in the upper 80's/low 90's in some parts of chicago. unfortunately, at least in chicago with the heat usually comes humidity....YUCK! YUCK! YUCK!

of course, all excited for the heat we had the windows open for the 2nd night in a row! yippeee! however, last night we could have really turned on the air! ugh, talk about a miserable night sleep!

oh well, at least the RDETROIT RED WINGS WON!

so it's all good!

monday's post...

well, i didn't make it to grosse pointe this past weekend, turns out my parents went upnorth to the cottage!
the nerve, guess my mother is just going to have to wait a little longer for her present! ha! ha!

so instead i am heading to GP this weekend! can't wait!!! hoping to make it out to the GUCCI store over at somerset and purchase the wallet i want. it's going to be part of my anniversary presents. yeah, i hate surprises! ha! ha! 

oh well, have you seen these over at williams-sonoma?

the lobster is about the size of a 1 lb. lobster and the crab is pretty true to size too! as soon as i saw them, i knew i had to buy them! the lobster for $49.00 and the crab was $29.00. williams-sonoma also has a hermit crab for $19.00 --- i'm sure i will buy it at some point, but really wanted the lobster and crab.

great, all this talk about lobster has me craving lobster! guess i know what's for dinner one night this week. also, for sure next week when my parents come to town! ha! ha! 

i also purchase a duvet and set of shams from pottery barn in the katherine floral pattern.

seriously, i don't need another set of bedding! ha! ha! after all, i already have 8 sets but saw this pattern at pottery barn and had to have it! below is a swatch of the pattern:

oh, speaking of bedding ever wonder why bed displays look so great?

well, yesterday i was at bloomingdales and wondered the same thing! so i took a peak inside and turns out they use two duvet comforters! seriously, i had no clue! ha! ha!

last night i was looking at NORDSTROM's may catalog and came across a couple of items to add to my MUST HAVE LIST!

first up, how about this tunic!

isn't it beautiful, i love it and best of all it's under $140!

also, check out these adorable TORY BURCH sandals:

they look adorable, but they personally don't look very comfortable.

might be better off sticking to my JACK ROGERS, ha! ha!

in any case, i'll try them on over the weekend and make my final opinion.
