as promised, here are a few more photos from a couple more of my favorite places to visit when i am up north.

next up suttons bay, michigan. bahle's has the best selection of barbour! i almost bought another jacket, but didn't! after all, i just bought one in georgetown a few weeks ago! ha! ha!

check out the barbour wellies...great deal for $89.00!

the annex which is their sale store had a nice selection of madras shorts and plenty of vineyard vines shirts!

next up, here are a few photos from glen arbor, michigan, also home to cherry republic!

while at cherry republic you can enjoy their cafe. everything is made with cherries! cherry ice cream, cherry chicken salad, cherry pie, cherry wine, chocolate covered cherries, cherry peanut butter, etc. YUM!!!!!!

while we were at the tasting room they had some very tasty cherry guacamole on display! YUMMY!!!!

of course, i enjoyed a few samples of wine and non-alcoholic beverage samples.

"upnorth" part one...

happy 4th of july!

i'm home after 6 days vacay up at our cottage in northern michigan. it was rough driving home today!  we were spoiled with awesome weather! low 80's and NO humidity...who could ask for better weather! of course we get to chicago and the temps are in the 90's...UGH!!!

first up, i wanted to share some photos from leland, michigan. one of my all-time favorite places to visit! after all, i have been coming here my whole life! our cottage is located between leland and glen arbor. so many wonderful memories!

if you are in leland, you MUST pick up something from TUG STUFF!

of course, you'll have to be sure and stop over at haystacks! another one of my favorite shopping destinations in leland!

another one of my favorite stores is niki & greta's. the store reminds me sort of what the mole hole used to be! oh, how i miss that store!!!!

check out the toilet below, hilarious! i love how they advertise for "poo-pourri" --- get it, ha! ha!

below is a view from the bridge looking out at lake michigan. although, my photo doesn't to the view justice! sorry, i forgot my camera....AGAIN and had to resort to using my phone!

here's a view from "fishtown" looking back up towards the cove.  btw, they have THE BEST keylime pie! seriously TDF delish!!!!!

finally, don't forget to pick up some whitefish and smoked chub from carlson's...YUM!!!

also, don't forget to stop over at the mercantile [the grocery store] and pick up some award-winning raclette cheese and sisson's peas & peanut salad! sounds crazy, but this salad is seriously delish and worth the ridiculous price! ha! ha!

i took this photo last year on my way back to my car after attending swedish days out in geneva, illinois. darn it, forgot to see if the children were having another lemonade stand this time! oh well, there is always next year! ha! ha!

a few of my purchases...

it was such a beautiful weekend here in chicago!

yesterday i headed west out to geneva to the swedish days! aka....best sidewalk sales!!!! i bought some cool stuff, below are a few photos of what i bought:

i loved this juliska tray so much i bought two of them, one for me and one for my parents. they just gutted their bathroom and i think this will look beautiful on their vanity.

plus this adorable matching set. i have a thing for frogs!

i also bought a few other things for the home. the weather couldn't have been better! last year it was SO hot and humid! here are a few more photos from swedish days in geneva.

so much fun! can't wait to go back next year!

today i spent some time on michigan ave. here are a few photos i took this afternoon! such a beautiful day! if only every day was this beautiful in chicago! lol!

of course, today i sported my bonanno's!

you know if one more person asks me if these are my real nails? i think i am going to slap someone! no not really, but you know what i mean! lol! ...oh, and yes those are my real nails!

unfortunately, i do not know the name of this OPI nail color! kind of bummed, b/c i really like it!

my husband returned home from vegas yesterday with $$$! yup, the sucker won! not a lot but at least he came home about $950.00 in cash! i asked if he wanted to go shopping? his response was to put it in the bank! the bank, lol!!!!

so to celebrate his "winnings" we went out for dinner to hugo's frog bar & fish house! if you are ever in chicago, i highly recommend checking it out! i absolutely love this place! too bad they didn't have the soft shell crab i had last time, but i ended up having the king crab stuffed shrimp [shown below] and my husband had frog legs. yum!!!!!!

before i forget, just a couple more hours until the lilly pulitzer home sale starts over at rue la la!
